We expect these same commitments from all our suppliers and manufacturing partners. At a minimum, the following conditions must be adhered to.

Any supplier or manufacture partner found to be in breach of this code will result in immediate termination of business and blacklisting.

There is no forced or involuntary labour, and employees may leave employment with reasonable notice.

Freedom of Association.

Employees have the right to join or form trade unions of their own choosing and to bargain collectively. The employer will adopt an open attitude towards the activities of unions.

Employee representatives will not be discriminated against and will have access to carry out their representative functions in the workplace.

No discrimination is practiced.

Employers will not discriminate in hiring and employment practices, including salary, benefits, advancement, discipline, termination or retirement on the basis of race, religion, age, nationality, social or ethnic origin, marital status, sexual orientation, gender, political opinion, union membership or disability.

Employers will treat each employee with dignity of respect, and will not use corporal punishment, threats of violence or other forms of physical, sexual, psychological or verbal harassment or abuse.[/vc_toggle][vc_toggle title=”Child Labour” el_id=”1455801718031-0d528cb9-5193″]Child labour will not be used.

[/vc_toggle][vc_toggle title=”Working Conditions” el_id=”1455801775104-eb903a82-1364″]Working conditions are safe and hygienic.

A safe and hygienic working environment shall be provided. Adequate steps shall be taken to prevent accidents and injuries occurring in the course of work, by minimising the causes of hazards in the working environment. Workers shall receive regular health and safety training, and such training shall be repeated for new or reassigned workers.

Access to clean water and toilet facilities and, if appropriate, sanitary facilities for food storage shall be provided.

Working hours are not excessive.

Working hours will comply with national laws and benchmark industry standards, whichever afford greater protection.

In any event, workers shall not be required to work in excess of 48 hours per week. Overtime is voluntary,  shall not exceed 12 hours per week, and shall be compensated at a premium rate[/vc_toggle][vc_toggle title=”Compensation” el_id=”1455801809951-ab0ff201-3708″]All employees will be provided with written information about their employment conditions and wages before they enter employment.

Deductions from wages as a disciplinary measure is not permitted.

Living wages are paid.

Wages and benefits will meet the minimum national legal standards or industry benchmark standards, whichever is higher.[/vc_toggle][vc_toggle title=”Organic Certification” el_id=”1455801831936-2751bbde-01b3″]All suppliers and manufacturing partners (where applicable) must hold a valid organic certificate from a recognised certification body.

If this certification is invalid for any reason Garthenor must be informed immediately to prevent penalty.[/vc_toggle][vc_toggle title=”Other” el_id=”1455801864191-a2d862c4-3a4a”]Subcontracting

Subcontractors will not be used in either supply or manufacture without express written consent, and only after the subcontractor has entered into a written commitment to comply with this Code of Conduct.
